Sled for the Drill Press
Drill Press System for Log Furniture

Woodworking Jigs & Things

This is one of the most used jigs in my shop. This one
is 8' long and 1" thick plywood. It is centered below
the quill and simply clamped to the table.
2x2s are screwed to the plywood to form the track
for the sled. I added the 1" rollers that I ordered
from one of the woodworking magazines that
plague my mailbox every day.
The sled is cut from plywood with mitred 2x2s
screwed on. The sled is 1/16" narrower then the
channel.
There is a piece of plywood on one end that is used to screw
into the log to keep it from turning during the drilling process.
There is also a small channel at the end that I use for indexing
when I need to make mortises 90 degrees from each other.
